We enjoyed the convenience of having a self-sufficient stay with just a couple of keys. the room was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. the location was ideal for our romantic escape, with easy access to nearby attractions and a quiet atmosphere for relaxation.
The lack of privacy in the room, as there were no vertical blinds or curtains on the windows facing the pub. the temperature in the room was very hot, and the only provided fan was not sufficient.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially the host, who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The live music performances in the hotel were fantastic and really added to the atmosphere. The room itself was very comfortable, with a cozy bed and a quiet location, perfect for a good night's sleep. Additionally, the hotel's location was ideal, with easy access to key attractions in the city.
There were some aspects of the hotel that could have been better. The bathroom had a persistent damp smell, and the floor felt spongy, which was a bit off-putting.

The room at Carlton Lodge was fairly clean and I appreciated the kind staff. The large parking area was convenient for our car.
I was disappointed by the poor finishing in the room. There was a hole in the wall that had been poorly painted, and the floor in the bathroom was cheap and poorly fitted.

We loved the spacious and clean rooms, just a short walk from the bar/restaurant. the food was amazing, especially the buffalo cauliflower wings, a must-try even as a side dish! the location was fantastic, only a 10-minute drive to see the famous Shambles, perfect for any Harry Potter fans. Plus, parking right outside our room made it extremely convenient.
Felt free to seek any assistance, no complaints at all.

The rooms were clean, cozy, and had a nice touch. The value for money was excellent, and the location was perfect for exploring the nearby town of Acomb. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and accommodated our needs, including allowing us to check in early.
The breakfast offerings could be improved with a wider variety of choices.

The rooms were clean and quiet, providing a comfortable stay. The staff in the bar were friendly and helpful. The free parking was a great advantage, as it saved us the hassle of finding a parking spot near the hotel.
The maintenance of the rooms could be improved, as we noticed neglected areas in the bathroom. some amenities, like grab handles in the bathroom and sufficient milk for hot beverages, were lacking.

The room was comfortable and convenient, with a fuss-free check-in process. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly and we had a satisfying evening meal at the tavern. I especially enjoyed the buffalo cauliflower wings. The location was great, with easy access to the town and attractions like the Shambles. I had a great time and would recommend this hotel.
There were no hooks on the back of the bathroom door and the shower was a bit iffy. It would have been helpful to have assistance with carrying our suitcase up the stairs.

The room I stayed in was lovely and the beds were super comfortable. I had a great night's sleep. The hotel provided high-quality coffee in the room, which was a pleasant surprise. The separate building from the pub meant that I didn't hear any noise, and I enjoyed spending some time in the lovely garden. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Plus, the free parking was a bonus.
The hotel failed to mention that the restaurant closes at 6 pm on Sundays. I had planned to have dinner there after exploring the city, but I arrived too late.

The location of Carlton Lodge was perfect for my work trip, being close to the place I needed to be for the day. The room itself was spacious and clean, away from the noise of the pub. I also appreciated the ample parking available. The temperature in the room was just right, and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. The delivery of tea bags upon request was a nice touch. The proximity to the center of York made it easy to get around without dealing with the hustle and bustle.
There were a few minor inconveniences during my stay. The radiator in the bathroom wasn't working, making it quite chilly.
